for the first time to screen eligible contestants to compete in the 2008 MBGN

Tagged "The fashion Show with a difference", Stars on the Runway featured 60 celebrities 'modeling' outfits on the runway by 12 top Nigerian designers, plus entertainment from various artistes, auctions and raffles, all for a good cause. Hailed as one of the best fashion shows ever seen in Nigeria and acclaimed the best fashion show so far in 2007. The 10th anniversary of the Nigerian Reunion in the USA saw for the first time, Nigerian 'home grown' comedians take the stage to perform for Nigerians at the Sheraton Hotel Atlanta. Co-produced by R70 World, the event saw original stand up comedy from Nigeria featuring Basketmouth and Julius 'The Genius' Agwu making their American debuts with their individual styles. The event also featured Away Away, Michael Blackson and music by hot US based R&B artiste Banky. The Night of 1001 Laughs was part of the annual reunion organised by the Nigerian Reunion Corporation (NRC).
The annual Christmas Jam in London by the R70 World Crew saw another mega turnout with celebrities and friends of the company come celebrate the festive period. Over 15 DJs took turns to thrill the crowd to different genres from Hip Hop and R&B to Hip Life and Afrobeat. The event was filmed as usual for the special Intro programme and was also covered by the entertainment magazines in Nigeria like Hip Hop World and Deeply.

INTRO SUMMER JAM 2005 AfroHipHop, the fastest growing music genre in Africa now has gone beyond the shores of the great continent, firstly to the United Kingdom, and now by the foresight of R70 World into the USA. The R70 World/DJA Music produced concert, tagged, AfroHipHop Intro Summer Jam Atlanta 2005, was a huge success, both on the awareness and recognition levels. Many fans of 'mainstream' HipHop thronged to the Loft @ Earthlink Live Venue in Atlanta to witness and be part of history being made as artistes from Nigeria and Kenya shared the same stage as American rappers Outlawz and Xtaci. The featured artistes on the night were the 4tune Tellaz (Nigeria/USA), Naira (Nigeria), Attitude (Kenya), Xtaci (Nigeria/USA), Outlawz (USA), UGO (Nigeria) and eLDee The Don (Nigeria). INTRO SUMMER JAM UK 2005 @ N-TYCE VENUE, London The 2005 edition of the popular Intro Summer Jam series in the UK took place at the N-Tyce Venue in Woolwich. Featuring D'Banj, Tic Tac (from Ghana), Julius Agwu, Comedian OJ, female rapper X2 and Komo. MC on the night was comedian Wale Gates and music was supplied by DJ Abass. Despite the highly publicised Visa refusal to the billed headliners, Sunny Neji and Ruggedman, by ignorant and bias officers at the British High Commission in Nigeria (even though they had valid Work Permits), the show was a huge success as fans of the annual event and true music lovers turned out in full force to enjoy themselves.
INTRO CHRISTMAS JAM 2004 @ THE MEANTIME LOUNGE, London Boxing Day December 26th 2004 saw the biggest crowd outside of the Independence Jam to celebrate Christmas with the R70 World / DJA Music crew at the second annual INTRO CHRISTMAS JAM. Alongside DJ Abass on the wheels of steel was DJ Omo Whyte and Kas, making the night one of the most successful events in our history. The event was sponsored by Kato Enterprises Ltd., the official importer of Guinness From Nigeria and the night also saw the introduction of the other Guinness brands, Gordon's Spark and Malta Guinness, to the UK market.
Another year, another success. The Big Nigerian Independence Intro Jam 2004 was again a full house affair as the whole of London town turned out at the Ocean Venue for the second edition of the BIG SHOW. This year featured Sid (of Da Trybe), Komo and his dancers, Kween Onokala, JJC & 419 Squad, the group Maintain and Eedris Abdulkareem. Gbenga Adeyinka 1st and Wale Gates were the MCs.
April 2003 saw the debut of the INTRO JAM series at the Meantime Lounge, Millennium Dome London. That show featured the Solek Crew as the main act. Next was the SUMMER JAM at Klub TJs in Canning Town London on July 11th. The headline act on that ocassion was JJC & the 419 Squad, supported by the Solek Crew, Wale Thompson, Tavian and Kas. BIG NIGERIAN INDEPENDENCE INTRO JAM 2003 @ THE OCEAN On October 3rd 2003, history was made as for the first time ever, Nigerian artistes and UK based Nigerian artistes performed on the same stage at the BIG NIGERIAN INDEPENDENCE INTRO JAM. That event featured Kas, BamyDee, AY and the Pounds & Naira Inc, Cashino, Solek Crew, Trybesmen and Tony Tetuila. The INTRO SUMMER JAM series is the brainchild of Ayo Shonaiya and Abass Tijani (DJ Abass), partners in the quest to deliver 110% of pure entertainment and unforgettable experience through music, dance, stand-up comedy and general love and happiness to unite Nigerians and Africans all over the world. |
